The RWA Architects, Inc. architectural team, lead by John Isch, AIA and Doug Burkey, AIA, designed the addition and remodeling of the kitchen that is featured on the cover of the February/March 2008 issue of Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications “Remodel.” Builder, John Dallman of DBGC, Inc. and Interior Designer, Betsy Schmidt, of Elizabeth Schmidt Interior Design, who happens to be the owner of the house with her husband C.J., were also an integral part in the realization of the project. The article, found on pages 68-75 of the magazine, is full of beautiful photographs and goes into great detail about the design process and the challenges that were presented. However, the end product is a demonstration of what can happen when the client, the architect and the contractor work together through open communication.
