Home Theater Wins Top Honors at CEDIA

A custom home theater designed by RWA Architects in collaboration with Doherty Design Group received the top honors for both interior design and technical excellence in the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association’s (CEDIA) Electronic Lifestyles Awards 2006.

Awarded “Best Home Theater Architecture” and “Gold Technical Design for Large Home Theater – Level VI”, the design features exquisitely detailed American cherry and burled walnut millwork, complemented by tailored acoustical panels and brushed nickel accents. The cinematic experience is complemented by a sophisticated lighting design and control system that includes custom art glass sconces, back-lit stained glass ceiling panels, and a fiber optic star field.

Two panels of judges evaluated the projects on both technical and design merit. The technical panel was comprised of CEDIA members.  The “Best Home Theater Architecture” award was selected from the entries by a panel made up of members of the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Interior Designers.
