CINCINNATI – RWA Architects, Inc. received awards for Singular Residential Space and Singular Commercial Space in Cincinnati Magazine’s 4th Annual Interior Design Competition. Award winners were announced Thursday, August 10, 2006 at a dinner held at the Kingsgate Marriott on UC’s campus.
Cincinnati Magazine’s interior design competition honors outstanding and innovative residential and commercial interior design in Cincinnati, Dayton and Northern Kentucky. Competition winners will be featured in the “Home & Garden” section of Cincinnati Magazine this November.
RESIDENTIAL SINGULAR SPACE AWARD
PRIVATE RESIDENCE – HOME THEATER
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
The residential design was a home theater inspired by the client’s affinity for Biedermeier furniture. Designers used back-lit stained glass panels, a fiber optic star field, and art glass sconces to create a truly unique movie viewing experience. One judge described this home theater as “richly inspired and beautifully crafted.”
The project team consisted of John J. Isch, AIA – Principal in Charge, Kenneth Workman, AIA – Project Architect, and Mark Wagner.
The custom electronics system designer/installer for this project was Doherty Design Group, LLC. The interiors were crafted by Artisan Homes of Indianapolis

WILD GINGER ASIAN BISTRO
CINCINNATI, OHIO
Wild Ginger Asian Bistro represents a philosophy that buildings should be constructed in an environmentally responsible manner. RWA designers used a variety of finishes made from renewable and recycled raw materials in accordance with the client’s vision. Judges praised the consistent detailing and disciplined design.
The project team consisted of Michael R. Mauch, AIA – Principal in Charge, Kenneth Workman, AIA – Project Architect, and Alison Hovey Güneyik, AIA.
The general contactor was Perry Contracting, Inc. of Cincinnati.
