The 1st annual AIA Cincinnati CORA Awards (Congress of Residential Architecture) was held on Friday evening, February 20, 2009 at the Maketewah Country Club. The focus of the awards ceremony was to recognize excellence in residential design and to give public attention to local registered Architects. Throughout the course of the evening, fourteen awards were given out in the following categories: Honor, Merit, Honorable Mention and Juror’s Special Mention. Prior to the night of the awards ceremony, twenty-five finalists where selected out of forty-eight submittals by a distinguished panel of jurors, selected from around the country, each of whom are recognized nationally in the field of residential architecture. Of the twenty-five finalists, fourteen were selected as worthy of special recognition, and of those fourteen awards, seven were awarded to RWA Architects. We know that it is the coming together of these two ingredients that allows us to express our creativity and as a result, be rewarded for it.
