Exterior Elevated Fireplace Addition

Previous clients of our “Remodeled Hillside Residence” project reached out to us 15 years later with a vision of turning their covered terrace into a more useable space during the cooler months. A towering, yet sculptural, fireplace was added to the shorter, south end of the terrace to provide warmth, while minimally obstructing their picturesque views of the Ohio River. The form spans three and a half stories, but seamlessly ties in through the use of matching stucco and limestone. Additionally, glass panels with stained cedar frames to match the terrace columns and beams were added to flank the fireplace, helping regulate the amount of cross wind that comes into the space.
